United Protestant Church – Worshiping in the community for over 100 years

Welcome From Pastor Mitch

United Protestant Church is a wonderful group of people that is inviting and lets you be yourself. While I am new here as a Pastor, the first thing that struck me in visiting was how people have been joining the church in the midst of a transition of Pastoral leading. This is a testament to church that was created by the Mill for different Protestant faiths to join together in one Church.

United Protestant as a UCC church also shares a rich history in inclusion as the church of many firsts. Along these same lines, the theology of the UCC Church is Protestant with an open encouragement for each individual to find their own personal theology and faith.

You are welcomed to join us any Sunday for worship at 10:30. There are coffee and fellowship following each service. The church practices an open table where membership is not required to partake in communion with us, on the first Sunday of each month.

Look forward to seeing you some Sunday.

Peace,
Pastor Mitch

More About Us

United Protestant Church celebrated its 100th year worshiping in Duluth in 2017 and its building’s 100th anniversary in 2021.  Morgan Park was developed as a model community for the workers at its mill in western Duluth. Our church was build in 1921 and is one of two built by the U.S. Steel Corporation in the Morgan Park neighborhood.  These days, we count among our members individuals from across the Twin Ports region.  A warm and welcoming group, we come from the Congregational side of the UCC and strive to be a vibrant presence in the communities of Western Duluth.

We hope you and your family will have a warm and spirit-filled experience with us as we worship and fellowship together at our services, events, and ministries.

Annual Events

United Protestant Church is excited to be an active participant in our community.  In addition to weekly services, we host several annual events, which are all open to the public.  Some of these include a 5k Race, Spaghetti Dinner, Christmas Concert, Halloween Carnival, Easter breakfast, and more.  We try to have events spread all through the year and something for everyone to enjoy.   Some of our favorite memories have their roots in these events, and we hope you’ll find time to enjoy them with us.
